A few bad apples not sufficient explanation 5/8/2004

It has become obvious to all but the most ardent boot lickers that the pentagon's explanation of the torture going on in Iraqi prisons being the work of just a few bad apples is a pure fabrication. Bush and gang show mocked surprise when it is obvious that these low level soldiers being scapgoated were following orders from higher ups. Seymour Hersh broke the story on April 30, 2004 in the New Yorker magazine that a 53 page pentagon report completed in February 2004 concluded that torture has been widespread in the wake of the Iraq invasion. Note that he uses the word torture much to his credit rather than the water-downed "abuse" most other journalists are sticking to.

Although it is not been widely reported the story has broke that the International Red Cross told top ranking US military officials about the torture shortly after the invasion but the pentagon ignored them.

If we believe the official story US reservists were taking their orders from the CIA and in some cases private civilian interrogators? This makes no sense whatsoever. Here is one person's explanation:

Even the British are admitting that torture is routinely taught to their special forces. But we must believe that the US would never do that. It is obvious that America is being demonized internationally prior to our eventual breakup and integration into the Free Trade Area of the Americas. This is another dark chapter in the history of our constitutional republic. I am appalled. Aren't you? Of course the neo-con national hosts are saying that it's no big deal. Limbaugh himself has said that the soldiers were just blowing off steam. Nice try sycophant but we aren't buying that.

Here is a collection of articles detailing some of the torture news:

Hitler, Stalin, Mao and others were bad when they tortured.
Being American does not make it right.
Speak out now or be seen as tacitly consenting.
And please spread the word.
